1D50.3 Conical Pendulum

[Setup Time: 5 Min.] [Current Condition: Good]

Info

Rooms 301 and 428 only

The 50 lbs. ball is suspended from the ceiling and used as a conical pendulum.

Same setup as 1M40.1 Large Pendulum and Nose

Setup Instructions

1. Start with the weight resting on the block, and the block itself standing on its side.

2. Pull the rope tight when tying.

3. Remove the block, and tug the weight down to secure the knot tightly – the weight will lower considerably. Make sure it's not going to hit the table! (Note: Stretching rope in 301; do not attach weight until rope is hung)
